Gene Lesouw
Gene Lesouw was born in 1998 in Kuilsrivier. He is a Cape Town based artist and graduated from the Cape Town Creative Academy with a BA in Contemporary Art in 2021.
Gene enjoys the intersection of simplified shapes and forms with figurative painting and portraiture, often using a bright modernist colour pallete. His exaggerated proportions give his subjects a childlike/naive quality. Lesouw’s paintings often have a narrative quality that carry over from one painting to the next.
